This has been one of the craziest March Madness tournaments in recent memory, but hands down my best March Madness when it comes to betting. Currently, the overall tournament record holds at 30-19 with average odds of -120. This means that if you were a $100 bettor on each game, you would be up about $600 for the tournament. Last night was tough going 1-3.
Clemson vs Kansas -5- Kansas has looked decent with wins over Penn and Seton Hall. Clemson, I have to admit, has surprised me so far in this tournament with wins over New Mexico State and Auburn. Clemson’s win over Auburn was one of the most impressive of the tournament, winning by 31. Kansas should be too strong for Clemson in the paint with players such as Udoka Azubuike. I have a feeling Kansas blows this one out, and it is also in Omaha, which is close to Jayhawk territory. Kansas -5 (-110)
West Virginia vs Villanova -5 – This is my favorite matchup of the Sweet 16, and maybe the whole entire tournament thus far. The Mountaineers, led by Carter & Konate, bring a lot of momentum into this one. Brunson and Bridges have looked like the most impressive team so far in the tournament. This will be a back and forth match-up, but I see West Virginia keeping this close and covering 5 points. West Virginia +5 (-110)
Syracuse vs Duke -11 – Well, well, well… Syracuse back to the Sweet 16. Most said they shouldn’t have even made the tournament, but here they are facing the Dukies. The Dukies have been hot lead by Marvin Bagley and I don’t see them slowing down in this one. 11 points is a big amount of points especially when two teams will primarily be running zone defenses. I still like Duke to cover this one because I see Cuse struggling on offense. I see a final score of 66-53 in this one. I also like the under in this one. Duke -11 (-110) & Under 133.5 (-110)
Texas Tech vs Purdue -2 – This should be an interesting game as the Boilermakers come into this one without one of their best players, Isaac Haas. Texas Tech should be able to capitalize in the paint without the 7 footer in the paint. This game, in my mind, is a toss-up. The Red Raiders, lead by Kennan Evans, will be too strong for the Boilermakers. In my opinion, Texas Tech is one of the most athletic teams in college basketball. Haas’s absence will be really seen in the rebounding category. Texas Tech +2 (-110)
