1/7 Free Picks

A unit is recommended for 1/7 free picks below. Of the games I list as strong leans, play these if you already had a lean to these plays yourself (or you just want action on). All the games listed below as a pick are all tracked via Action Network. Slight leans are just if I had to pick one side or the other.

Seahawks vs Packers (-4, 46.5)

The Seahawks are coming off of a Wild Card win on the road that was against a banged-up Eagles’ team. The Seahawks themselves are banged up and are facing off against a Packers’ team that has had an extra week to prepare and will be the home team in this one.

Russel Wilson is carrying this team on his back and is doing it with a third-string running back and BeastMode, who is one of the oldest backs in the league. The public was heavy on the Seahawks as this line opened up but it is starting to even out a tad.

Packers are 2-0 in their last 2 playoff games at home in Lambeau (1-1 ATS). Give me Aaron Rodgers and Aaron Jones to have big game offensively, and for the Packers to win this one by a score of 27-17. Wilson has been a solid quarterback in late fourth-quarter deficits, so this one might come down to a late backdoor cover.

Weather also could be a factor in this one and we will monitor this throughout the rest of the week.

Pick- Packers -4

Slight Lean- Under 46.5

Knicks vs Lakers (-12, 222)

I liked the over at 220 late last night, which I gave out to subscribers here at CapWize. This was before the news of Lebron being questionable to play tonight with an illness. Initially, I was worried that this was going to be an under play with him out, but after looking deeper into it, Lebron being out may actually benefit this game going over the total.

The only game Lebron has missed all season was against the Nuggets at home, which the Lakers gave up their most points allowed all season with the Nuggets scoring 128. This was also the 19th ranked Nugget’s offense third highest-scoring performance of the season. The other two were against the Grizzlies, and you guessed it, the Knicks.

Lebron’s presence will be missed on the defensive side of the ball and if he doesn’t play, expect Kuzma to push the pace and be aggressive tonight (especially with trade talks heating up). I expect a quicker tempo if Lebron doesn’t play. If he does go tonight, I still like this over, as I was on it the whole time.

I have the Lakers winning this one 121-107. Looks like there is some sharp money coming in on the Knicks, which tells me that Lebron isn’t going to suit up tonight. This line dropped from 14 to 12 in a little over an hour or two.

Pick- Over 222

Slight Lean- Lakers -12
